Yoo-Hun Suh

Prof. Yoo-Hun Suh graduated from Seoul National Univ. College of Medicine and he acquired Ph.D in Neuroscience major in the same university. Since he has served as a professor in this school in 1981, he laid the brain research foundation in Korea, by successively filled various posts, as a president of the President of Committee for the Legislation of Brain Research, President of Korean Society for Brain Science, Council member of Asian Pacific Neurochemistry, President of Asian Pacific Society for Neurochemistry, President of Korea Society for Cognitive Science, and President of Korean Society of Pharmacology. He was given the National Government Medal (Woong Bie Medal), Se Jong Prize, 5.16 National Prize and Yu Han Grand Prize for his great achievements. And he was also chosen as one of 21 outstanding Korea Scholars of the 21st century. He wrote about 30 books like 'I want to have the best brain', 'Genius and the brain development', 'Wake the sleeping brain' and 'Know the brain and use the brain etc. And he has published almost 200 outstanding papers in internal and international journal. With all his achievements, he is valued as a great scholar in the field of Alzheimer's disease research. At present, he serves as Director of Neuroscience research institute, Director of Cognitive Science institute in Seoul National University, College of medicine, President of the Committee for the Foundation of Korea Brain Institute and Director of the National Creative Research Initiatives Center for AD.
